My Work
Speaking
I visit groups to speak about my writing, my life and my faith, and I lead sessions at retreats and quiet days. I like to encourage and enthuse people of all ages to enjoy life, and to discover how God can impact and enhance the lives of everyone. I use different methods and visual aids to suit the occasion and participants. Please contact me if you would like to ask me about speaking to your group.
Books
My published books cover a variety of topics. All are written in a lively, contemporary way in bite-sized pieces to maintain interest. I write in the style I like to read - short chapters, lots of anecdotes, a bit of challenge and bags of encouragement.
Photography
One of my earliest photos, taken when I was ten, was of Tower Bridge leaning at a rakish angle, looking as if it would topple off the sloping Thames straight into the Tower of London. A photo that deserved to be banged up in the Tower for sheer poor quality. Practice makes perfect? Far from it, actually, but hopefully there's been some improvement. Photography is a great way of becoming more observant - noticing the raindrop on a leaf, the gnarled wood of a fallen tree trunk, the reflection of a street lamp in a puddle. Images to enhance life.
Please take some time to look at the pictures in my Photo Gallery. I will be changing the pictures to follow the seasons.
Poetry
My English teacher's aim in life was to instil a love of Shakespeare into her pupils. She also gave us opportunity to experiment with words in prose and poetry. She was not successful at the time with either Shakespeare or poetry as far as I was concerned. It is only more recently that I've had a go at writing a few lines of doggerel that I dare to call poetry. I definitely wear L-plates in this genre but please take a look at my poetry page.
