"Who am I? What is my place in 'this strange, eventful history?' What am I on this planet for Do I have any lasting value or am I just an insignificant blob, placed for a moment and then snuffed out?"

The Seven Ages of Man is a celebration of life. It may surprise us at times that many of our 21st century experiences have occurred in the lives of previous generations. Language and technology change, but human nature doesn't. We are all born, we all live and we all die. Well-being and hardship, joy and sorrow, harmony and conflict, are common to human beings of every era. The Seven Ages of Man entertains, encourages and challenges, as it takes the reader through the seven stages of life. The text, in this hardback coffee table book, is enhanced and supported with photographs and line drawings.

"Lifting Shakespeare's speech from As You Like It out of context, Pam Pointer has used it as a vehicle for delivering to her reader a positive view of life. Her book is full of wonderful passages of poetry and prose which support her statements. Full of Christian teaching and wisdom, together with her other literary 'supporters', Pam Pointer leaves her reader with a sense of real purpose in each stage of our lives." David Suchet

Roy Green's Brilliant Ingenious Venture
(2005 Kevin Mayhew Ltd) - Available from www.kevinmayhewltd.com.

"Good morning, Roy… and welcome! Welcome indeed!" roared Mr Roberts, whose grin was as big as the one Roy had carved on a pumpkin last autumn. Mr Reg Roberts was the fruit and veg market stallholder, known to everyone as Reg the Veg. "Let's see what we can do," he said, rubbing his hands together in anticipation. Reg the Veg, Roy and his dad arranged tables and boxes, covered them with green blankets of artificial grass and started to sort the fruit and veg. "We need to start at the back," said Roy, "with all the red things. Red peppers, rhubarb, radishes, red plums, raspberries, strawberries…"

This is the story of 8 year old Roy Green whose brilliant ingenious venture has him reorganising the market, being interviewed on The Today Programme, and inspiring children to eat their fruit and veg. The book includes activities for individual children, school groups and church groups.

The Also-Rans

"Life was no bed of roses for those who talked about the gospel. Here we find Aristarchus caught up in a riot and dragged to the theatre. Well, there was certainly drama, but not the usual kind of entertainment one would expect to see at the theatre… The kerfuffle started in the street…"

Here are short snapshot studies on some of the lesser known folk mentioned in the New Testament: Epaphroditus, Trophimus, Archippus, Rufus's mother, Rhoda… 40 men and women whose adventures show enthusiasm, squabbling, deception, and perseverance…

Forgive us… as we forgive…
(2003 Kevin Mayhew Ltd) - Available from www.kevinmayhewltd.com.

"It's curious how, knowing that each of us is imperfect, we nevertheless expect perfection - or as near as can be - from those around us…" "Sometimes we miss out on peace because we are unable to forgive ourselves…"

Using Christ's words from The Lord's Prayer, this book offers perceptive insight into a topic that causes many Christians so much difficulty - forgiveness. The book may be used by individuals or in discussion groups.

Why didn't God create me with green hair?
(1999 First Serve Publishing) Limited number still in print please contact me for details.

"It's fun to dye our hair an outrageous colour but it's not a pre-requisite for individuality. God has created each of us as a unique being anyway. The amazing thing is that we can be transformed into something even more special. Such a change comes not from a bottle as a one-off experimental fashion statement, but from God himself."

The book comprises short pieces that use everyday experiences to convey illuminating truths. Topics include: Plastic people, Silly Mid-Off, Jelly Leg, No Slimy Liver…
